Thiksey Monastry in Leh

Thiksey Monstry in Leh

A beautiful Monastry in Leh in the style of Tibetan Style rather it is Tibetan Monastry.

This monastry is a 12 storey complex and is built on a hill.

This is the interior of  prayer Hall beautifuly decorated.

The kids in the monastry responded emphatically - No photo- when I tried to take the picture of one of the bubbly kids.  They had a school beneath the prayer hall.

This is a view of Thiksey village from the Monastry.

This is a door to the library. An instruction written on the left side of the door
-PLEASE TAKE OUT YOUR SHOES MY DEAR FRIEND-

There must be a fixed time for the library, but I had no patience.
I found one of the windows open, so I sneaked my camera and took the pictures of the interiors of the library.
Old books related to Buddhism are stacked here
 wrapped in bright colours.

Buddha as well as Buddhism always facinated me.  Before leaving for Leh, I had this thought of converting to Buddhism. But after visiting these monastries, I reverted back.  I do not understand why these monastries are so depressingly dark.  Buddha and Buddhism were born here but I did not find the traces of Indian Buddhims or Buddha in this part of India.  I could not understand this way of worshipping in darkness.

Otherwise, I found Leh very beautiful.
It is full of colours but I found the life dull.

Jhoolta Minar

This is Jhoolta Minar (Shaking Minarets) of Ahmedabad. People going to Ahmedabad conclude their journey with Akshardham Temple or other places.  I have asked many people about the Jhoolta Minar and shockinlgy none of them heard about it.

It was built by Ahmed Shah in 1445.
If you shake one minaret, the other minaret also shakes.
Jhoolta Minar is one of the miracle architecture of not only Ahmedabad but of India.

These minarets are carved so beautifully

It was a time for Namaz, when I took this picture

Its circular ceiling

Its well erected pillars.
The hanging ceiling fans and lights for the Namazees,
diminshing its beauty.

The left portion is renovated by the ASI recently.

It was disheartening to see this miracle surrounded by a huge slum when a Temple which was built only recently,
was protected by Z security.

A coincidence

While taking the rounds of the magnificent icon of Kolkata-The Victoria Memorial- and capturing its various images,
I was amazed to find this conicidence.
One of the statues installed above the porch on the back side of the Memorial resembles the Queen of Hearts,
the Lady Diana.
I was astonished to see this coincidence....as if the future of the British empire was written between 1906 to 1921 by
Sir William Emerson in Kolkata.
The statue shows the lady adoring three kids which depicts  motherhood.

Netaji - My Hero

Visit to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's house at 38/ 2 Elgin Road, Kolkata is indeed a pilgrimage .

A rickshaw puller proudly sitting in front of the Netaji's house.

The car used by Netaji to escape from Calcutta,
I wish the custodians of Netaji's House should think about giving a ride in the car.

These are the stairs which helped Netaji to climb down in January 1941 from his house arrest to achieve the greater heights in the freedom struggle.

Writing on the wall, excerpts from Netaji's writings...which says "In this mortal world, everything perish and will perish - but ideas, ideas and dreams do not."

the feelings that evoked while walking through the coridors of this magnificent place can not be poured in words

Netaji's room in on the first floor of the house,  the moment we entered the first floor, we were asked to shut down our cameras which seemed injustice.  Wanted to take the pictures of the place where Netaji spent his time while sleeping, reading, eating etc.

Ideas of Sarat Chandra Bose engraved on the wall.

on the first floor of the house the coat, cap, shoes worn by him are on display.  Wanted to try those dresses so that I can have the feel of Netaji...I wish....

wanted to sit in this car....anyhow.
I came out of the house and found  a mall with all the imported brands right in front of Netaji's house.
I wonder whether people who thronged this Mall have ever stepped into 38/2, Elgin Road
or it is meant for the tourists only.

The Taj glory of India

wah taj

as the story goes....through these beautifully corridors with carved pillars..

through this magnificent door.......

crossing this beautifully decorated magnificently huge door.....

a symbol of love......

of an empror for his beloved wife....so much beloved that she died while delivering his fourteenth child.....

.....buried on this shore of Yamuna - a sacred river....so much sacred....now turned into a  stinking drain....

...here stands this glory of India.....

....supported by its strong minarets.....

....looking itself in the dirty waters of the pond....

....engraved sparkling precious stones and carved flowers.....

....showing the intricacies of artisans.....

....the carved windows above....

....intricately weaved dreams of artisans with the dreams of an empror for his beloved, in the marble...

......even after so many hundered years...
one can feel the beauty.....

...not a single mistake......

... a poetry in stone....

....here lies the beloved queen....

...surrounded by these artistically carved pillars of the tomb...

.....ankhiyon ke jharokhon se....the masjid...

whatever the story ... no matter..... Taj is the glory of India,
an Icon....an identity of India.....
belongs to religion of love......
let it remain like that...
keep it like a dream in eyes...

wah taj...
