Clouds on South Mumbai

It was a month of September, when I landed in Mumbai.
Clouds were bubbling in the sky
painting the sky of Mumbai
creating shapes-
Here  white clouds preferred the shape of INDIA

My favourite place in Mumbai -
cuffe parade at the other end of the backbay
almost touching the clouds

Vidhan Bhavan popping from the back of INOX
It stands alone amidst the rectangular Boxes

Clouds showering silver on the Arabian Sea while
 Mantralya keeping an eye

A chimp planting a kiss on the forhead of a lovely lass

Vidhan Bhawan shining with the silver

clouds look full from the thirtieth floor

The mighty Mantralya boasts its presence

Vidhan Bhavan surrounded by tall boxes

It is a time of hightide, the Backbay is full with water
the fishermen are back with their catch so it seems very calm as the boats are lying idle

There was a time when I used to sit for hours in the window of a house at fifth floor in Cuffe Castle,
spending hours watching these boats going to sea for their catch, and this time I spent hours looking at the backwater and my favourite place fifth floor of Cuffe Castle
I cherish those memories

Nahargarh Fort

Nahargarh Fort standing magnificently at the
 Aravali range in Jaipur.
At the edge of a lonely ridge

This is the entrance to Naumahala (Nine apartments)
built for the  nine queens of the Maharaja.
These are just nine rooms and they call it Mahal.

It is a beautiful structure with narrow and long corridors
and yes small windows

Blue sky and clouds mesmerizing the beauty of the domes.
A tower in the backdrop gives a glimpse of developments
going around the Fort.
A shadow of a cloud on the hills in the backdrop gives the impression of a Bat.

 Domes adorning the jaipur City

A room in the Hotel in the adjacent fort, I am forgetting the name must be Mahender Pratap Fort

A view of Jaipur city. surrounded by Aravalli Hills.
i think in one of my previous births
i was born in one of these palaces and forts.
i feel as if i belong to Rajasthan

Rose

Dream is not that, what you see in sleep.
Dream is the thing which does not allow you to sleep - Steve Jobs

Do not compare yourself with anyone in this World
If you do so, you are insulting yourself

Being frank is always better than being falsely sweet
because by being frank in life,
we may get lot of true enemies
 but surely not untrue relations.

Jaiselmer - Haveli of Salam Singh

Salam Singh a Diwan of the Kingdom with high ambitions.
His ambitions aimed at the throne so the ruler aimed his gun at Salam Singh
He made this Majistic Haveli which can be reassembled even today by just removing its carved walls.

It was really very difficult to avoid this magnificent building

Salam singh had set his eyes on a village girl when he told the villagers that he will come to take her with him,
the whole village abandoned the village the same night

It seems it is made of Gold-a solid gold

A stone for worship

The door in haveli is fixed without any nails, nuts and bolts.
It can be removed easily with a little effort.

Broken pieces of sun shade

The Haveli of the Diwan of Ruler of Jaiselmer
glaring the Jaiselmer Fort.

I had a small fight with the descendents of Salam Singh.

Later on, I heard heated arguments with some other tourist,
this time it was a foreigner.

Jaiselmer - Golden City

Jaiselmer - The Golden City a city of Rajputs.
Ruled by Bhatti Rajputs.
Jaiselmer, one of important land routes for trade in ancient times was the last princely state
to sign the treaty with British.
The story goes back to Bhatti Rajputs,
some of them later on migrated to Talwandi and
Larkana and settled there with the name Bhutto.

Jaiselmer city woven intricately in the Yellow stone,
 the Jaiselmer stone,
sitting on the borders of India and Pakistan amidst the scorching heat of Thar desert.
The film Nanhe Jaiselmer and one of  Amir Khan's movies was shot here in the above location.

The bejewlled ceiling of the palace - it is the Belgium glass

Lovely jharokha in the palace...

Jaiselmer the princely state of this Western side of our country have its Fort made without water, with  low ceilings and magnificently carved walls.

We were told by our Autorickshaw driver cum guide that the criminals from the neighbouring states were left here to die in the scorching heat of the desert and also there was scaricity of water.
The quote used for them was
- JAA SALE MAR -

The poetry carved in Yellow stones
leave eyes and mouth wide open and
then lips shrinking into WOW

view of Jaiselmer city from Jaiselmer Fort

The royal gallery in Fort.
Its low ceiling talks of the architecture.

ceiling of the Jaiselmer Palace painted with Golden and
majestically bright colours.

so as the walls...painted with the most popular love birds
Radha and Krishan

Every body talks of frescos of Michelanglo,
so much is written about those frescos,
sadly no attention is paid to the majestic frescos in our country.....

 ...these are incomparable........

The carved Jhrokhas of the corridors and rooms of the Jaiselmer Palace, speak the glory of the past ...

Trip to Jaiselmer was not a JAA SALE MAR,
but it was PADHARO SAA...AAVO JI MHARE DES...

The tradition of ear piercing in men is found in Rajputs only.

Here I heard the name of Gulabo the queen of desert folklore,
for the first time.
Gulabo appeared in the Bigg Boss season 5 and couldn't stand the politics of Bigg Boss and evicted from the Bigg Boss
 within few weeks.
