Netaji - My Hero

Visit to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's house at 38/ 2 Elgin Road, Kolkata is indeed a pilgrimage .

A rickshaw puller proudly sitting in front of the Netaji's house.

The car used by Netaji to escape from Calcutta,
I wish the custodians of Netaji's House should think about giving a ride in the car.

These are the stairs which helped Netaji to climb down in January 1941 from his house arrest to achieve the greater heights in the freedom struggle.

Writing on the wall, excerpts from Netaji's writings...which says "In this mortal world, everything perish and will perish - but ideas, ideas and dreams do not."

the feelings that evoked while walking through the coridors of this magnificent place can not be poured in words

Netaji's room in on the first floor of the house,  the moment we entered the first floor, we were asked to shut down our cameras which seemed injustice.  Wanted to take the pictures of the place where Netaji spent his time while sleeping, reading, eating etc.

Ideas of Sarat Chandra Bose engraved on the wall.

on the first floor of the house the coat, cap, shoes worn by him are on display.  Wanted to try those dresses so that I can have the feel of Netaji...I wish....

wanted to sit in this car....anyhow.
I came out of the house and found  a mall with all the imported brands right in front of Netaji's house.
I wonder whether people who thronged this Mall have ever stepped into 38/2, Elgin Road
or it is meant for the tourists only.
