Trek to Panchachuli in October 2005

Panchachuli is a cluster of five hills in the Garhwal region of Uttranchal. It is very sacred for these people.  Here is one of the peaks of Panchachuli, visible on way to Dharchula, our base for the trek.  Dharchula is the International Border with Nepal. 

This is a reflection of our trek coordinator Kirti in the glasses of one of the teammates.

Our first halt, I do not remember the name.  But one thing I remember is that the ladies of the house were getting prepared for the winter season.  This small girl, I do not remember how many rounds she had completed to collect this fodder.

Flowers

These beautiful flowers were planted in the pots at Parwanu resort. 

Don't know the name of this flower but the layers reminds me of a beautiful dress worn by a fairy tale princess

I was amazed to see this flower.  There was not a single leaf on the tree and this flower was shining like a king

Shekhawati

This is Nadine le Prince haveli in Fatehpur, Shekhawati Region of Rajasthan.  This French lady has restored this 200years old haveli.  It is magnificently decorated in a traditional Indian style.

This is a foresco of a haveli in Jhunjhunu.  It is in its original shape.  The colours and the style is entirely different. 

Most of the ceilings of these havelis are adorned with Radha Krishna.
